Solo Ride – Burnt Mountain Loop | 101.8 miles

Feb 19 (Sunday) | Solo Ride – Burnt Mountain Loop | 101.8 miles
🏍️
Due to a late Saturday night enjoying some down time with friends, I opted not to ride with a group heading to Fort Mountain/Jasper, GA area. Instead, I planned on a short ride to Burnt Mountain.
🏍️
Bright clear blue sky, but a little cold. I took the usual back roads. Hwy 372, Hwy 369 , Old Federal Road (‘Trail of Tears’) across to the ‘speed-straight’ Cowart Road, Steve Tate Hwy and 136 to Burnt Mountain.
🏍️
I stopped at the ‘1st Stop at Foothills’ gas station and store for a Pee break (What can i say, it was a bit chilly!). This was the first time I had used this gas station’s restroom. It was in quiet a state. Almost felt as if I needed to shower afterwards. Not being in a rush I hung around outside the store, for some Water and M&Ms time.
🏍️
Then up Steve Tate Hwy and left onto Hwy136 up the twisty side to the Burnt Mountain Lookout. Parked up the bike, more M&Ms and water time. Sat on the barrier overlooking the vast green valley below towards Jasper. Sitting on the barrier, exchanged a few pleasantries with a couple of riders who rode up, quick stop and off they went.
🏍️
On the return leg, I had decided to head to Talking Rock and then wind my way back home. But a line painting truck crawling at 2mph caused a jam. Talking Rock will need to wait another day for my visit!
🏍️
I headed back up via the Old Federal Road for the pictures of an old rusty Tractor and Trailer covered in dried creepers and bushes. That done, next stop a Racetrac to top off the gas to have the bike ready for the next ride.
🏍️
Once home, Plug in the Sena to recharge; hook up the trickle charger which charges and maintains the bike’s battery and then the hydration! A Sweetwater Hazy IPA.
