Took the car into work today even though the weather showed clear and very little chance of rain. As I walked to my office building I see a riding friend’s (who works in the same building) bike perched up on its center stand in the motorcycle parking area.
Come lunch time, I make a quick run home and swap out the car for the SuperTenere. Armored Jeans from Klim, Mesh Jacket and Krios on the head. Taking the long way (in the right general direction, that is) back to office meant adding a whopping 3 miles to the ride. 🙄
Around 4:30, as I wind up for the day and get ready to ride home, the skies go dark.
“You have got to be kidding me!”
I fire up Dark Sky Weather App and much to my annoyance ‘Heavy rain and Thunderstorm’ for next 1 hour. The waiting game again. Two days in a row now. As I stood by the building entrance looking out I realized that the Nelson Rigg Tail Bag didn’t have the rain cover and the contents would probably be drenched and wet by the time I can get to it. Oh well! It is what it is.
Waited out about 40mins, getting a head start on tomorrow. With just a light drizzle, I set out. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. The fairings stopped most the light rain from drenching my jeans. Mesh stopped a fair bit of the water from getting through except for the sleeves which were out in the open – outside of any shielding from the windscreen.
Safe slow ride home. A kind of mini-adventure to kick off the week.
